Setup the Auto Correction feature in Word 2013 – The Auto Correct feature in Word 2013 can fix hundreds of typo and spelling errors as you type. Auto correct feature does not require you to do anything; Word 2013 refers the instructions set and corrects mistakes accordingly. The Auto correct feature can be further tuned to enhance productivity and simplify the editing task.

1. Open a Word document

2. Click on File to open Backstage View

3. Click on Options

4. A new dialog box opens. Click on Proofing

The proofing tab list several auto correct options. Do not alter default settings unnecessarily.  The default settings are okay in majority of the editing scenarios.

5. Click on AutoCorrect options

A new window opens which lists different auto correction options.

6. Click on Auto Correct.

You can use this feature to rectify common typo you commit or commonly used Acronyms. For example you can add an entry for atm to be replaced with ATM or seo with SEO and so on..

7. Check for other tabs such as Auto Format, Auto format as you type for fine tuning auto correction options.
