How to Freeze Panes in Excel 2013

Working with large amounts of data can be overwhelming. If you constantly have to compare data on two extreme sides of a large spreadsheet, you don’t need to worry about constantly scrolling from one side to another if you learn how to freeze panes in Excel 2013. Step 1: Launch Excel 2013

In this spreadsheet, you want to see the first three columns and last column in one frame since you want to know the net salary each employee is receiving. In the screenshot above, we simply zoomed out to see the entire spreadsheet, but this is not possible in larger spreadsheets.

Step 3: In this spreadsheet, we want to freeze the first three columns, i.e. column A, column B and column C. In order to do this, we must select the column to the right of the three columns by clicking on its column heading. If you wished to freeze rows, select the row below the rows you wished to freeze

Step 4: Click on the View tab

Step 5: Select the Freeze Panes button in the Window section and click on Free Panes in the dropdown menu

Step 6: Now you can scroll to the right and see each person’s received salary while also seeing their name in the same frame

Step 7: If you wish to unfreeze the panes, go to the Freeze Panes dropdown menu in the Window section and select Unfreeze Panes
